I detailed my Vette on Wed, evening so I would be ready for the 4th this weekend. Upon backing out of the garage I noticed my taillights had collected a lot of dust. I did the easy fix and hit them with a blast of air from my shop compressor. Has anyone ever noticed this with their Vette, or am I just being too finicky?
It's like 2 monkeys having a poop fight. It is going to happen and you can't stop it. I do what you did and just use some air to get it clean again before I leave any place.

If you like the look, you can get a flush mount kit for the tail lights and that should keep some of the dust off the outer lip of the tail light opening. Otherwise, it's just a small price to pay for having a great car like the C5.

Any downsides to these kits?
I've seen three different vendors offering them online.
Some seem to match the body lines well. Some seem to stick out at the top, and still be inset at the bottom.

For me, the look of the flush mount taillights is the biggest drawback - I am not a fan of them. I was just throwing it out there as an option. I would rather put up with the dust in the tail light area myself.
I have a blackout kit on mine and the acrylic really attracts dust...usually just hit it with my California duster but got me thinking about using "Static guard" on them (or maybe on the entire car) Boy some real issues with these cars! lol
I always carry a small paint brush on all my cars to dust off the interior, the same with my Vette, I use the brush to clean the tail lights every time I drive it
