I have a 99 coupe. My mechanic went to put a set of lg pros on today and said theres no way without dropping the cradle 5in to get them in and then fabbing up some weird dipstick tube because my stock one wont work with them.. anybody had any issues with them? Is there a modified dipstick i need? Any advise appreciated, im going to try to install them myself next weekend.
The dipstick mount should be correct on it if you ordered the correct year/version. I had no problem getting the larger 1-7/8" LG Pros in mine without dropping the cradle - sounds like your mechanic doesn't know how these are supposed to go in.
Note the Pre-'01 dip stick mount on my LG Pros. These are for my '02 so I use the head to mount my dip stick.
I just installed LG streets this weekend, you do have to upgrade to the 01-04 dipstick for it to work. I had to remove the alternator and valve covers to get mine in, not sure what else is needed on the bigger headers.
I got mine used. Not sure if they are the "correct" version as i wasnt aware of different versions when i purchased them. Im curious about the above question if a 01-04 dipstick would work if i dont have the right version for my year. Or do i have to sell these and find my version?
You have the correct version, they're all the same. Contact Cultrag performance and order the 01-04 dipstick and tube. I just did the same on my '99 corvette.
