I've never given it much thought before, but now that I spent all of the money on good polish, such as Zaino, this question came to mind. Before, I would wash a vehicle, throw a coat of Nufinish or Meguiars wax on the car and go on with life. But now that I have zaino and I spent all of the money for it and I started going through the whole process of getting 3-4 coats of each process on the car, this question came to mind. If I get tar or a very sticky item such as an insect stuck to the car and I need to use a harsher cleaner, it will most likely remove all of the hard work put into the polishing process. Would you just wash the car and use the spray detailer and call it good??? Or how would you handle this one small area that you have now just stripped all of the polish from?
But the guy already owns Zaino and is question is what to do.
I think the answer is that having a solid foundation of Zaino wax/polish (or any other good brand) should protect the car against penetration by bug body acid, tar, etc - - -you should be able to wipe it off--or use a cleaner wax or even detail spray to soften the substance and remove it.
Remember that in most cases, a more harsh detergent like Dawn will strip wax--or some portion of multiple coats-- so you'll want to use a less aggressive detergent (if at all) or a spray detailer to prolong your wax efforts.
Just use some bug and tar remover on the area. Works like a charm.
IMO chadwicks is WAY overhyped here by our multitude of 'waxxers'
Just getting a good quality protectant over corrected paint is going to get you 90% there in most all cases. Be that a glaze/sealant or a wax. I've had better lasting results with Carnuba based stuff imo...
While Chadwick's is good (I've used it). I switched over to Ultimate No-Rinse car wash with carnuba and have had equally good results. It also comes at a fraction of the cost of Chadwick's.
Answer: So I went to the bar the other day and....
To actually answer your question, if you have to use a harsher chemical chances are good that it will remove the Zaino, wax, whatever, from the spot you cleaned. If you want to Zaino the whole car again, feel free; however, you really only need to reapply the product on the spot you just cleaned. The detail spray has no protectant in it so you'll need to use your Z2 or Z65. If your car is garage kept and you're not getting much else on the car other than dust. Then you really don't need to layer 3-4 coats on but every month or two. Probably even longer if you don't drive too much.

I am Zaino all the way and yes I know doing the whole car at once can be a PITA, so what I do to keep the time to a minimum is break the car down to 3 zones. I already have several coats of Zaino on the car and the car is a weekend toy that never sees rain so when I get the hankering to put on another coat I will do the front clip. Next time I do the middle section and next time I will do the rear clip. That way I can get it done quick.

Call it overhyped and do want you want(have you actually tried it) it is by far the easiest and best car cleaner/non-wax product I have ever used and no I have not used Zaino, but I went to the website and it was way too involved to end up with what I have with Chadwicks !!!!! I don't have to worry about where I apply it because I spray it everywhere, windows weatherstripping moldings and it does not matter because it will clean every surface.(and won't leave white crap where you don't want it !!!!!!!! If you don't think it protects, well after driving in a hard rain there is not a spot on the car !!!!!!!!!!
Thank you to the guys who actually tried to answer my question!!!
I agree with a couple of yinz. I ask a question and people actually spend time typing to not even answer the question or to spout off about how they like some other product better.
What I was using to remove the bugs or whatever was bug and tar remover... but now that I have three good coats of zaino on there, it might not be a problem anymore!!!

You've got to expect this whenever you start a thread about wax, tires, batteries, etc.
Your first mistake was telling everyone which product you used to wax/polish your car.
You should have just asked, "will bug & tar remover also remove wax /polish?"
