I had the Ctek plugged in the lighter while gone. There was a storm that tripped the gfci in the garage and the Ctek is toast. Now the security light flashes about a minute after I remove the key and close the door. Also have the abs,tcs lights on that I never had before. I just don't know where to start. I can't find anything in the service manual that addresses the light issue. Any idea where to start.
The codes are; C1232, C1233, C1248. All these codes appeared while we were away when I had the Ctek plugged in the lighter. What is strange is the "security" light continues to flash after I remove the key and close the door. It never did that before so maybe the ignition switch triggered these codes.
How old it the battery? Usually, when anything is acting strange on a C5 electrically speaking, I would first check the condition of the battery.
And since you had a tender hooked up to during a thunderstorm and the GFCI tripped and fried it, it could that extra current was sent to your battery and may have caused some abnormalities.
Hopefully your EBCM didn't catch a spike.
Hindsight 20/20, but when I tender my battery, I pull it and set it on the ground. It take all of 5 minutes to remove and reinstall the battery. Plus if something happens with charging/maintaining and the battery blows, it doesn't blow in the engine bay.
You did not say if the codes were H or C. Delete them and go for a drive and pull them again. Always pull codes BEFORE you turn the ignition OFF or almost all codes will show as H.
All the codes come back right away. If I check them with the engine running I can't even reset them. I put a new Delco in the end of March and it's been fine. From what I've read on the forum the first thing to check is the ignition switch since the security light seems to be associated with that and the key cylinder. I sure hope it's not the EBCM. I will never again leave the tender on when I'm not at home.

Or the opposite: when the Ctek got fried, it started draining the battery, which is now in a low charge state and causing the usual oddities.
Yes; I tried that but only for a few minutes, I think I should have left it off for 30 minutes just to be sure. I'm going to try again. The car started up perfectly and I drove it qbout 60 miles at highway speed. I checked the lights, radio, gauges and everything works. I called the dealer(they have several excellent corvette mechanics who've been there 20+years) and they too feel the ignition switch took a electrical hit and is responsible for the codes. They are going to diagnose everything next week. I'm tempted to first install a new ignition switch to see what happens.
