Hey guys,
Was just wondering what the reliability of the LS6 and it's components are and how they hold up on high speed runs? And yes I know about the valve springs.
The valve springs would be my only real concern. It couldn't hurt to throw some hardened push rods in it when you change the springs. Then let it eat! Should run 175 mph or so in the 1.5 mile, depending on conditions.
The LS6 is pretty tough, especially on the bottom end. Excessive RPM will do the most damage on a N/A motor (obviously) and the pistons/ringlands become the soft spot in boosted/nitrous applications.

Well......yours maybe.
At the Texas mile, my stock (except for Stoptech BBK) ran 9 consecutive runs within one mph of 163mph (fastest). All the other C5 Z06s who "claimed" to be stockish ran about that speed. All of the C6 Z06s who claimed to be stockish ran less than 10mph faster (170 to 172mph).
