I just tried to clean the inside of my windshield as it was so dirty all I could see was the reflection of the dash when driving into the sun. I ended up making it worse! It doesn't smell like anyone smoked in the car, but it has that haze that just won't come off. I just seem to smear it around in different designs. Any ideas?
And how to get to the very bottom?
Put your cleaning rag on the end of a Plastic Spatula...so you can reach the bottom...of the glass.
I bought a cheap black towel to lay on the dash for the common dash glare on the windshield when the conditions are right... I don't like the dash covers... THE towel works great and the wife uses it to cover up when when I get the temps too cold for her.
Thanks guys. Looks like I have a few options to try. I also saw a few ideas on youtube. I've always had a lot of success with soaking with window cleaner and scrubbing. But it's tough to reach some of the lower glass. And if you have any drips I've just found it's impossible to clean them.

I have a microfiber pad attached to a about a six inch handle and use some Adam's Polishes window cleaner to get into the area at the bottom of the windshield. Works well for me.
I also use a mixture of half vinegar, half distilled water. spray onto a folded up clean micorfiber towel; using the 'back' of my hand for inside the window (front & rear).
of course change the fold on the clean towel often; and use the spray sparingly; seems a little goes a long way. and this keeps from getting it all over the dash, etc.
Vinegar seems to be a miracle liquid, and the distilled water will leave less spots... like the final spotless rinse at a car wash.
Then, I lay on an ice pack for 30 minutes for my sore back.....
I use a microfiber with Poorboys Spray and Wipe on the inside and outside of the glass. For the inside of the windshield I have the "Windshield Wonder." It's basically a microfiber "bonnet" on a stick.
The angle of our windshields makes them harder to clean.
I bought some Invisible Glass cleaner and a couple micro-fiber cloths. I'll try that once it cools down. Failing that I may try and talk to the detail guy at the BMW dealership where the wife just bought her car.
My first vette had a windshield that was impossible to clean. No matter what I did I couldn't get it "clean". It always had a faint haze. It drove me crazy. I'm guessing that the previous owner had it replaced and must have used an inferior replacement. I'd never had a problem like that before or since. I was sure glad to see that one go.

The haze is caused by out gassing of the plastics. You need to get one of these. They are available at Autoland, Wallyworld and the like. You just spray a little water on the terry cloth pad and wipe off the haze. It can get all the way to the bottom and in the corners.

with the exception of Adam's Polishes. Nothing personal, I know Adam and his products are expensive. If you can find it, there's a product called "Glass Wax" it comes in a pink metal container. Squeeze the liquid on a sponge and simply wipe. No haze, crystal clean glass. Use the microfiber to wipe clean. Glass wax works awesome on chrome finishes too.
