Default DIC Display not working

Today when I started my 04 convertible the display that says corvette by chevy and shows odometer and other messages did not light up. In other words I don't see anything displayed. It's just dark. I tried the DIC buttons and nothing changed. Just dark and blank. Tried dash light control **** to make sure it wasn't just dimmed out. That didn't help. Any suggestions?

I did search and found a lot about the display going crazy and showing a lot of different messages but I haven't found one were the display wasn't working at all. Maybe I'm using the search wrong.

Just the DIC is blank, no odometer or message like door open. All my gauges in instrument panel work. I just checked fuse 19 and that's good. Any other fuses I can check? I really didn't want to start pulling every fuse. I guess I could but then I might have to reset some things like clock or radio.

Just pulled fuse 25, it's good. It powers interior lights which promptly went out and made me get a flashlight to put it back in.

My experience would say the motherboard is bad. It contains and controls the display. A good GM IPC shop "might" be able to fix it. That board also stores the odometer mileage so if you swap IPCs (or board) you will need to have that reset.

Here is a Thread showing that large green board.

Here is how to access the IPC.

Mr. Sam, Thanks for the info. That's a lot more involved then I was hoping for. I was hoping for something simple. I'm assuming there are venders on here that sell the motherboard. Who would be able to reset the mileage? Thanks, Les

Bill Curlee is THE MAN when it comes to these issues, I'd check with him via PM before anything else.

Probably need to buy a good used IPC. If you get a board it is probably from a parted out bad IPC and it may not be good. I would check with Marc at VetteNuts.com. A well respected Forum vendor here.

He might be able to get you an IPC close enough you may not need to change the mileage.

Dealer should be able to do the mileage or a speedometer shop.
