Lets assume you have an 800+ rwhp C5, and you currently have some 305/35-18 Mickey Thompson radials out back.
You've just dropped some decent coin on some nice new wheels, but the rears are now 19x11.
Your initial plan was 305/35-19 Mickey out back. Then you discover that via a work program, you have Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires available to you brand new from Michelin for about .25 on the dollar. Yea, a smidge over a bill per tire. Only the rears are available, but you have 305/30 and 325/30 available. Beats the pants out of $750 for a pair of mickeys.
But.....and this is a WWC5GEN do question. Do you a, go with the original plan, sell the current setup, get big sticky mickeys out back, and call it good. Or.....
Do you drop high quality street tires on the new wheels and live with the lack of traction as a trade off for longevity and comfort, and keep the current setup for those track days and nights in Mexico?
Buy the Michelin's at your special price, then sell them (unused) on the Forum at a good price for the buyer and use the profit to pay for the Mickey's

Can't. That could get me fired for violating business ethics per corporate. They made that plainly clear.
