Went to a local cruise in last night. Saw some kool muscle cars and several c5 cars along with a new Z06, (had the automatic, still wrapping my head around that idea) but it was red. My wife was in town in our 95 Impala SS so we met up and ate dinner together afterwards. We left the restaurant and while driving home I called my wife and had her pull over and we swapped cars.
If you haven't viewed your car from the perspective of other drivers around you, I highly recommend it. I traveled along both sides, looking at the stance, listening to the Corsa's talk, watching the suspension respond to numerous bumps (plenty of those) . At the last stop light I pulled up along side and told my wife to see what she will do. We didn't race but left the light in a very spirited manner. Loved hearing the exhaust as she went through the gears.
While there will always be the C5 vs C6 vs C7 discussions and the coupe vs hardtop discussions, I received confirmation that I have the right car for me. As nice as the 15 Z06 was I did not find myself envious or somehow lacking but actually quite content.

story and nothing at all wrong with still enjoying the C5. While I would like to eventually upgrade to either a C6 Z06/Grand Sport or a C7, right now my C5 still puts a smile on my face and has plenty of performance for my needs. Besides, the C5 design still looks great compared to any other car out there.
I've seen my c5z and 96 impala SS and I love both! My SS is beat nowadays but I plan on changing that soon. Theres nothing like seeing and hearing what other people are seeing and hearing when your car is coming down the road!
my problem is that I won't let anyone else get behind the wheel
Haha I shouldn't every time I've let friends drive my Vette they blame me for going out and buying one or them going to buy a supercharger for their corvette

My SS is pretty beat too, it's been a daily driver for 20 years and 205,000 miles but I still like driving it.
