1999-2000 after that the FRC became the Z06.

Default Hardtop Production Years - 1999 and 2000

The correct name is "Hardtop", not "FRC".

The expression/term "FRC" is an informal and/or customary nickname used in many conversations. IOW, a Vette guy thing.

When I was ordering my C5 in the summer of 2000 (ordering a 2001) I went in planning to order the "Hardtop" because all the magazines were saying it was the stiffest and best handling...but alas the first thing I learned at the dealership was that there would be no 2001 hardtop. I ended up going with the coupe and have to say I'm rather glad I did.

I very rarely ever took the top off. But for two people on a weekend road trip, the coupe had a lot more luggage capacity for someone whose spouse...doesn't exactly travel light . I'm also a cycling enthusiast and discovered that yes, it is possible to put a road bike in the hatch area of a C5

It's also confusing as hell, since the acronym "FRC" is also used for "Flying Roof Club".
And by definition, an FRC can't be a member of the FRC.

(Don't get me started on "fuel-rail cover"...I hate acronym overloading.)

How??? I can lay down a 54 cm Tarmac in the back of the targa coupe without moving the rear wheel. It plops right in, easily. I passed on a Z-06, an FRC and a vert because I wanted to transport my bike in my Vette when I felt like it. So I'd be interested in how you got a Cervelo in an FRC for future reference.
Thanks

Who cares about Political "Correctness"... Nobody refers to the fixed roof coupe as a "hard top".... You are probably the ONE person on this C5 forum that refers to them as a hard top.

I've seen or heard many people refer to them as Hardtop. Nothing "politically correct" about it sport.

It is what it is. Get over it.

Seems like your user ID would have been a clue that you're not a stickler for "hardtop" terminology.

Also when searching for a hardtop/FRC on CL it's wise to try both words....yes they will show up in one and not the other.

I drove a C6 with the targa roof a couple of years ago. I didn't much care for it. The roof creaked and much of the interior rattled. Overall I preferred my BMW and walked away.

Fast forward to this summer when I drove a Z06. Entirely different experience. As much as I would like to have a removable roof, I like the stiffer feel of the fixed roof. The whole experience was better in my mind, so I bought a Z06.

Id bet the FRC has more luggage space then the hatch. Also you do know the roof doesn't come off And they did have the hardtop in 2001?

I'm over it Nancy.... It's called a difference of opinion. No need to flex those internet muscles of yours.

Unless the FRC in question is owned by Dr. Who, you'd lose that bet.
