The expression/term "FRC" is an informal and/or customary nickname used in many conversations. IOW, a Vette guy thing.
When I was ordering my C5 in the summer of 2000 (ordering a 2001) I went in planning to order the "Hardtop" because all the magazines were saying it was the stiffest and best handling...but alas the first thing I learned at the dealership was that there would be no 2001 hardtop. I ended up going with the coupe and have to say I'm rather glad I did.
I very rarely ever took the top off. But for two people on a weekend road trip, the coupe had a lot more luggage capacity for someone whose spouse...doesn't exactly travel light . I'm also a cycling enthusiast and discovered that yes, it is possible to put a road bike in the hatch area of a C5

How??? I can lay down a 54 cm Tarmac in the back of the targa coupe without moving the rear wheel. It plops right in, easily. I passed on a Z-06, an FRC and a vert because I wanted to transport my bike in my Vette when I felt like it. So I'd be interested in how you got a Cervelo in an FRC for future reference.
Thanks

Who cares about Political "Correctness"... Nobody refers to the fixed roof coupe as a "hard top".... You are probably the ONE person on this C5 forum that refers to them as a hard top.

I've seen or heard many people refer to them as Hardtop. Nothing "politically correct" about it sport.

I drove a C6 with the targa roof a couple of years ago. I didn't much care for it. The roof creaked and much of the interior rattled. Overall I preferred my BMW and walked away.
Fast forward to this summer when I drove a Z06. Entirely different experience. As much as I would like to have a removable roof, I like the stiffer feel of the fixed roof. The whole experience was better in my mind, so I bought a Z06.

Id bet the FRC has more luggage space then the hatch. Also you do know the roof doesn't come off And they did have the hardtop in 2001?
