Help with painting center console
Got my center console out to install stereo. It needs painting and I want to keep pretty much the stock satin finish. The left side is worn from driver knee wear. Can I paint right over the stock finish or will it need to be stripped. If it can be painted right over, does it need any kind of primer. Also, any suggestions of the closest match in paint to the stock black satin. I don't want to paint the small piece with the active handling traction control switches, so I really need to match it close.

You this site a try. I used their product to paint/dye my console and bezel. I used their soap./prep and color coat. Only problem is I am trying to match my lt.Oak and bought the wrong color so I have try again.
Followed their instructions it actually covered really well. You should not have a problem with black.

For anyone interested, I contacted SEM, and they make a plastic/vinyl spray that is equal to the black center console OEM color, their Part number 15013 , Landau Black. Available at O'Reilly Auto Parts.
