Default Telescoping Wheel

I have always wanted a C5Z. This would be a daily driver. I'm currently in a Mustang GT Track Pack, but every so often I get a crazy notion in my head to go out and find an 03 EB to daily. The bug has bitten again, now that I've come to grips with exactly how much a C7, optioned the way I want, would cost me. However, I am 6ft tall with fairly long legs and short arms. My Mustang doesn't have a telescoping wheel and I refuse to buy another car without one.

I know that people have successfully done the conversion, but exactly how much does it cost and can it be done by a DIYer? According to the parts websites, the telescoping column is now out of production, so I presume my only option is to find a wrecked car and pull the parts.

Anyone have any insight into this? Thanks in advance.

Don't know about the install, but Mark at Vettenuts can probably get the parts.

We can sell you all the parts for the conversion. You will need steering column and a seat module with Telescopic. You will have to pin out your power to the motor on the column as the Z06 harness will not have the plug for the motor.

When I bought my first zo6 I almost didn't take it when I noticed there was no telescoping column.

I took it anyway, I found if I adjusted the steering wheel and seat just right, tilt wheel is all I needed.

I'm 6'. have 34" legs and no issue with my '04Z. Don't even have the seat all the way back and the wheel feels right as it. I did add a C6 shifter, the stock one looks like it came from a truck.
