Do the Silverstar or the like bulbs really offer much of an improvement over the standard OEM version? I'm looking to gain some brightness and distance and don't want to swap out the whole headlight itself unless that's really the best way to go. Thanks for any advice!
I just replaced the low beams in my 2001 with 2012hir bulbs. It did make a noticeable difference in the width and distance in light output imho. Here is a link to a article about doing this:
When I researched this several years ago, the best OEM style replacement lamps I found were Philips 893 CrystalVision (driving lights) and PIAA Xtreme White Plus (headlights).
