I was getting the car ready for a cruise this weekend and checking things over and noticed the serpentine belt was missing a small section of grooves. Ordered the belt and decided to check the idler and tensioner pulleys also. They were pretty loose so decided to change them also. Wow. Dint know how quiet the Moter could be. Wasn't too bad of a job. About an hour and all is good now. A little maintenance can really give you a great sense of confindance. Ready to cruise again.
Im bringing mine in for the harmonic balancer in a week or two, which pulleys and tensioners should I have my mechanic replace while hes there?
All of them perhaps?
If so where did you buy yours? Which brand?
Mine goes in tomorrow for a new balancer. As I stated in an earlier post I am going with an ATI balancer. My Vette shop said I could go with a NEW stock bolt plus gasket. You might want to look at your A/C tensioner. On my 02 it had worked it's way out and was rubbing on the trans line. I had the tensioner replaced and re- routed the trans line. You also need a new serpentine belt obviously.

I picked them up at our NAPA store. Gates belts and gates pulleys. 104.00 for all. I would say if the pulleys still have a little resistance to them they should be good but I just wanted to replace them while I was in there. Good luck.
