C5 Timeless look?
Look at an E-type Jag coupe...no need for LED's or different wheels or anything, really. It is a truly timeless design. As is the C2 Corvette, especially the split window coupe. Etc.
Will the C5 be in this elite group of timeless designs? Dunno. It certainly has aged well and has the potential.

What looks pleasing to the eye can be modern or/and classic.
What looked good 60 years ago will probably look good now. Think of a 57 Chevrolet --full size and Corvette. It has no modern leading edge styling --but still looks good to the modern eye.
Good proportioned flowing lines will look good now and in the future. And the C5 has these flowing lines. Like the 57 Chevrolet.
The down fall of design is when it incorporates unnecessary current trending design elements that disrupt the proportioned flowing lines. And the current large mouth bass design of the radiator grill opening of the new cars would be an example of design that will not age very well. And the rear end of the C7 will not age well--because it is disruptive of flowing clean lines . Contrast the rear of a C7 to the rear of a 58-60 Corvette--and which is more pleasing to the modern eye? And why?
Many of the current new 21 century design will be compared to the late 1950s automotive design. The large grilll openings of the new cars will be as unnecessarily dated and ugly--like the dog leg front windshields and the out of proportioned fins of the 1950s.
Trendiness of design will always date a product. But if it part of a clean design and pleasing to the eye--it will be timeless.

One of the things that gives my car a lot of credibility and appeal especially to my two friends is that I have a book of every receipt, every mod, every upgrade, every maintenance item, every touch I made to my car. most of them at my own hands... I think I have tastefully brought along the exterior without making it look modified. Nothing in your face.. the 2" flairs I chose were based on that principle.. of looking stock, but somehow different... everything subtle..
my car does not look like some young hot rodder built it. I took some of the original design keys and just amped them up a bit... Mike Mickoz already took care of sculpting the beautiful lines of the front end and front fenders, not short of visionary, without being in your face. Too me, the L5's and TPE flairs look like what the ZO6 bolt on air scops represent from a design point of view.. something that was added on after... my flairs look more like what I would design to a factory car.
I added a Nav system to bring the interior into the new millennium. Lowered the car slightly, changed up the interior a bit, and kep[t the paint looking fresh with a lot of Zaino.. One of the tricks to keeping the car looking fresh are clean wheel wells, clean rotors and wheels.. Ive always kept what you see clean, and also what you don't see clean...
The End..
PS IM easily swayed to post pictures, but right now I'm being considerate of all those who have had it up to here with my car photos.

I forgot to mention, thank you for the kind words about my Car, Glock23C

What is ugly now-- will be the same ugly 20/30 years from now.
