Yesterday I picked up an 03 Anniversary Edition C5 and drove it home to Richmond from Raleigh NC! It was quite an adventure as it's in really good shape, but needs quite a bit of TLC too. The tires on it are total crap, but were good enough to get me home. Big big props to MAC5 and RoadBike56 for riding down to the dealership and giving my car a serious once over. The review that MAC5 sent me was very detailed and everything he said was spot on! MAC and Roadbike, I still intend to fill the tank up for both of your vettes for doing this, it just may take me a while, because in addition to just getting the car, I have to buy tires now. Don't worry, just like a Lannister, I always pay my debts!
She's got 116K on the clock and it threw a service tire pressure system alert or something like that. I was doing 75mph at the time. I'm hoping that's because of the crappy tires. It needs a good detailing, so no pictures yet.
It's been five long years since I've driven a Corvette and compared to my old '95, this one drives like a Cadillac!

Reason: Grammar correction
I don't know if you're in the Richmond area or not, but for my last Corvette, I used Buddy's shop by Willow Lawn, but with the C5 I may use the shop in Lakeside, but I don't remember the name. If I go with the F55 delete so that I can put standard shocks on, I plan to use EFI Performance.

I put up a thread asking for any shops near Richmond and EFI was mentioned. Moving to Farmville area next 1.5 years. thanks for responding.
Glad Al (roadbike56) and I could help out on your new 2003 A/E. It's now in good hands and wish you and your family the best of times being back in a Vette once again. I'll take you up on the tankful somewhere down the line. That TPMS warning that popped up on the DIC on your drive home is related to the C2110 code that's included on the write up, if I recall it's a right rear sensor that is starting to flip out. I'd start getting those sensors changed out as you replace the tires. Looking forward to seeing some pic's when you get a chance.
Best of luck with your Anniversary Edition. It was my pleasure to assist MAC5, besides, I learned a lot just working with him, he really knows C5s and what to look for.
On those TPMS, as recommended by MAC5, it's probably time to replace all 4 units, especially since you'll have them exposed when you buy new tires. The batteries last about 10 years, mine began failing last year, yours lasted a little longer. I think you know that the units for your car are the 01 to 04 sensors that are different from the 97 to 00 units. Also, you'll need a small but powerful magnet to reprogram them once they are installed. There are threads on this forum about changing the TPMS.
Best to you and the family with the new addition.

Congrats on the new car, I know you are excited,
I guess I didn't realize these cars had TPMS in the wheels. Is that correct?

Shakey
Yes sir that is correct. Depending on model year two distinct sensors were installed on C5's Model years 1997-2000, and Model year 2001-2004. The sensors are not interchangeable. All the info's in the manual in the glovebox, assuming you have one.
Check the link to find out how to check the air pressure sensors (when car is in motion) thru the drivers information center. Clink on item #2 Gauges and drill down to "tire pressure".
