Got the new ATI harmonic balancer installed and picked up the Vette today. I did just begin to have a slight wobble. Here are pics of the new vs the old.You can see were the rubber started to flake and come off and where it was cracking.
Its good you cought yours in time. I have an ATI installed and pinned to the crank now too, but not before the outer shell of the stocker lodged itself into the timing cover rquiering replacement of that as well. That's preobalby the only bad thing I've ever had happen with this car. Happened at 80k miles too.. dissapointing to say the least.
I'm in the process of replacing the the balancer on my '99.. waiting on parts. The outer ring bumped the steering rack, luckily I was less the 200' from my driveway.
There was so little left holding it together just standing on it flushed it back up.
Anybody want to post up a link of where they are buying their new ones?
I didn't spring for the ATI, I got a Powerbond from Rock Auto. One thing I did discover is the ARP bolts are on backorder until next week everywhere I checked.
