The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

It caught my eye that he guaranteed you can use his products on a black car in the middle of the desert in temperatures exceeding 120*F...with no chalking... this caught my eye.. not so much for the claim ( which at the time was unbelievable.. ) But because I've been detailing cars for 50 years, I was willing to give this guy with such a bold statement , a try. I called him on the phone from GM Michigan.. and we started to talk...
I've used hundrends of products over the years, but this Zaino stuff was actually a lot different than anything else I've used.
Today with technology and a Mass-spectrometer, Sal's formula has been cloned by many others... Once, while talking with an un-named chemical engineer at a very famous manufacturing facility , he told me that they are very aware Of Zaino products and have had them in their test lab..That was right before I retired from GM.
Now other products from other manufacturers can produce similar results, but Ill stick with Zaino.
I've learned a few tricks with Zaino also...
1) throw your take off towels ( cotton or microfiber )into the dryer before you use them. this will remove all the moisture, that a cotton towel will absorb on a Humid summer day. Moisture in the take of towel promotes smears and inhibits the drying process.
2) once you pre clean a body panel, to remove any surface contaminants ( right before you massage the Zaino into the finish )
use only one or two drops directly on a body panel, this gives uniform application to every panel... if you put some product on the applicator you don't have control unless you count the drops..
also on te applicator, make it slightly wet with some Zaino or quick detailer.
I Use to get about 3 full car applications from a 9 oz. bottle of Zaino.. I can now get 8 full car, thin applications, using the two drop per panel method.
Here is a recent shot, showing the wet look with the car panels in both sun and shade... Note the side panel shine, even when not enhanced by the sun.. BTW.. I have not Zainoed my car in a Year.. I've been too sick...
