Mostly on C1/C2 forum because C5 (2004 convertible) has been trouble-free.
Now I have to replace the automatic trans shifter cable -- original one snapped. Took out cable part number 10338402 , replacement is part number 10352529, appears identical.
I've searched this forum and have read numerous threads on the procedure, but I'm having trouble threading the new cable into place.
Car is on a lift, I've removed exhaust and the tunnel pan.
Trying to feed cable from trans end, then tried from shifter end. There's a rubber bumper about a foot from trans end. Should that be removed and installed later?
There are lines under tunnel, probably trans cooler and/or brake lines. Do they need to be removed?
I'm sure there are tricks to doing this install, I just don't know what they are. Any advice or suggestions appreciated.

I've got the console and the shifter out. I think I may be able to do the front clip from above. Did you feed the cable from the transmission end or the shifter end?

I fed it from the trans end.i did take the linkage loose maybe that will give you a little more room.
Let us know how it go,it's always good when guys/gals follow up
Got the cable in -- not an easy task. Had to actually feed from the MIDDLE -- nearer the back -- and set the front bracket from the TOP side. Even with a lift, not fun!
You are fortunate to have a lift available. I had to take mine to the dealer. Now you understand why they charge what they do.
I've waited YEARS to get my lift. Been working on a '66 convertible as a long-time project but took that down to raise the '04.
My son and I arm-wrestled over 2-post vs. 4-post. I had wanted 4-post but he convinced me to get 2-post. So glad I did. For the second time this week I'm writing "I LOVE my lift!"
