I recently purchased an 02 vert M6. The steering wheel will not lock up with or without the key in the ignition. I have a receipt showing that a new ignition control module was installed by the dealer in 09 due to the column locking up. How do I know if the LMC5 is needed or of it has already been done? As I said the column will not lock now at all.
You can pull the partition in the passenger floor well, where the BCM and a fuse box is... IF the LMC5 is installed you can inspect the BCM and/or see the LMC5 module it looks like this....
Also agree that if the Column DOES NOT lock without the Key in the Ignition then some sort of recall work was done or someone put in a CLB... that being said you still need to do the LMC5 IMHO...
