Default Hope it's simple

Got into the car this a.m. and had 0 oil pressure, I'm hoping it's just the oil sensor or oil pump. Will find out Tuesday morning, L8R ZFLASH

Did you check your oil by pulling the dipstick? Sound normal?

The OPS is a common failure but it normal fails or sticks on the high side, but it can fail to Zero also...

Hope you're right and it is as simple as replacing a sensor. Would suck if you had to really tear into the engine.

If your oil is near or around the correct level, and you are not getting any loud lifter sounds chances are it's just the sensor.

It's not like the oil pump is going to die while the car is sitting overnight.
And if there's any decent amount of oil in the engine, the gauge will show something unless the sensor is Tango Uniform. Does it do the normal sweep at key-on?

Thanks guys for your response, I just got off from work. Oil level is normal, just had it changed about 3 weeks ago. No lifter noise either, it was fine driving home the night before. Getting it towed to Franks Vettes in the A.M. and I'll find out then. I've been looking at this '11 GS he has over there with a 403 in it and low miles, I don't won't hang around there too long and be talked into it. Thanks again, L8R ZFLASH

When I experienced 0 oil pressure after a startup. OPS replacement was my starting point, then test oil pressure with mechanical gauge to verify no oil pressure. Then pulled oil filter and cut it open to inspect for excessive metal shavings, which I found, and led to tear down. Hope you don't have to go further than replacing the OPS.

Okay, just got back from the shop, without the car. It's not the sensor, checked the pressure mechanically, still no pressure. Drained the oil, clean with no metal shavings at all. They are going to install a new oil pump tomorrow hoping that will solve it, and it's not anything else. Thanks to all and I'll update later. L8R ZFLASH

Good news thus far, if no metal shavings and no oil pressure strong chance you're just out an oil pump. Naturally, it's a decent amount of work to pull it as the steering rack and radiator have to get moved out of the way to reach it but if that is all you're out because you caught it early enough not a huge deal.

Also, looking on the bright side,I can finally fix the leak on the front and rear seal that I've been putting off.

While your there I'd sure strongly consider a Powerbond Harmonic Damper...

And apparently I was wrong...not the first time.

But I'm a bit surprised there was zero warning: is there any indication as to how it failed?
