I saw a posting from a vendor with PFdat products (PFdat/AFE) posted recently. did i miss something, i thought he closed up shop, is he back up and running?
PFADT is back but under the aFe Family as aFe CONTROL. If anyone has any concerns or interests in purchases, you are more than welcome to PM me or call us and we will get you taken care of
after what happened last time I'm pretty hesitant myself, it also looks like their prices climbed a bit too... I sure hope all the people were taken care of before they were allowed to sell on here as a vendor again
most have probably left the forum by now but i'v never heard anything about replacing this 2000 hp that I bought for almost $2,000.00 - PFdat carbon fiber drive shaft that went on me during normal driving on the street I'd love to be compensated

I remember your issue well, pretty much who I was referring to, although there were others...
Assuming you tried with AFE?
I tried as you may have recalled but to no avail...I'm still trying I've since just had Tommy make another one and gave it to one of the guys to try to make work on his car but the shaft would have been too short for him (4DRUSH) to utilize, what a shame ...
I remember reading the many threads and comments as to the dishonorable demise of Pfadt (Aaron) towards the unsuspecting customers. Thankfully I was not one. When searching for products I chose the other brand.
Can't comment on the new company, no experience and no need to purchase their products.
I know many on the forum are still unhappy being treated so poorly from the original Pfadt.
Times change, and we all move forward; saying this people usually do not forget being treated badly and screwed over .......
Did not mean to stir up a shyt storm. I am sorry to hear about the problems people had under the production of the previous ownership.
aFe is a large company with many great products, and i cant speak for them on what the product was like before their ownership, but i can tell you i wouldnt hesitate to purchase a aFe product myself. I am sure their quality assurance will only improve upon what looked to be a good design..
I look forward to seeing what will become of the AFE products for the C5. Also i am excited to know if i need parts for some Pfadt parts they will most likely be available.. Sway bar links, coil over repiar/replacments ect...

AFE has impressive facilities from what I have seen on the web and in the forum. From their comments they are committed to excellence and taking care of their customers. Best feedback is from the forum members posting their experiences, nothing is as good as referral business
So is AFE just PFadt renamed or was AFE an established company that bought PFadt out? IF the later I don't see why they are responsible for what happened before they took over the company.

aFe was founded in 1999 in Corona CA. They have 2 major facilities, 87,000 Sqft
and 77,000 Sqft. Each loaded with the absolute latest and greatest technology
and R&D Equipment.
After they acquired Pfadt, they painstakingly tested and re-designed
(when necessary) each product. As this process is completed for each
product, they are then re-released to the general public via certified
dealers.
As for the closing of Pfadt itself...and as for many things that you read
on the Forums...the truth is not always what is represented in the
threads you read. Arron and Robbin are in fact very honorable people. While there were some customers (for various reasons) that could not
and did not get their problems resolved when they closed. The vast
majority, and by that, I mean almost ALL were resolved, whether it
refunds or fixes by Pfadt. Arron and Robbin both worked long after
the closing to help out their customers, up to and including selling off
their personal assets to make things right. Again, I will say that there
were a few that could not be taken care of, but in the larger picture,
that number was very small (I'm sure not small to those affected) I can tell you, out of the 1000's of Pfadt customers we dealt with, ZERO
were not made whole in some way.
Currently aFe is working with those few who have not gotten resolution
and/or have warranty needs. In some cases the product has not been
re-released yet. If that is the case, contact aFe for time table or other
options for relief.
Please keep in mind, you have only heard the unfortunate few issues
that were not resolved. What you never heard, was about the 1000's
of customers and vendors that were taken very good care of, by Pfadt
and at great personal expense by Arron and Robbin. Please keep in
mind that both Arron, Robbin and Pfadt are part of our community and
spent a large part of their lives contributing to Us directly and the
Corvette Racing Community. They made the absolute best parts on the
market, held our lives in their hands and kept us safe in a very unsafe
sport.
If you have an unresolved issue, please contact aFe above, or feel free
to PM me an I will be glad to point you in the right direction.

I would like to be compensated for the 2K but realize they are under no obligation after going out of business. I haven't heard from all of the satisfied new customers but I am still a little burned over this and will continue to remind folks on here of my experience.
I am not a super company with thousands of square feet of machine shop...I do still however run the solid motor mounts with no problems - there is a BIG difference when stepping up for something like the driveshaft / torque tube.
I wouldn't even know what would make me happy at this point, I certainly don't need another $2,000.00 part I've already replaced
Someone can PM me from the company too, just saying ..

I'd do exactly the same in your shoes. And asking everyone to PM only makes it appear they are trying to sweep this under the rug instead of addressing it. I run a small garage based audio biz, if somebody asked a question on an audio forum I address it there.
P.S. IMO when you buy a business you buy not only the designs and positive aspects, you buy it all.
