I just installed a Corsa Tigershark system on my 02 with an M6. I have a Corsa sport on my C6 A6 and there is some popping and burble on decel but not too bad.
The popping and burble on my C5 is much worse. I won't mind a little on decel but it even does it a lot between shifts which I don't like at all. I'm wondering if installing a X pipe will eliminate a lot of this. Has anyone used a Corsa without the x pipe and then installed it later? Was there a big difference?

the X-pipe will help with the issues you are having. However, I have a Corsa exhaust on my car and have never had any popping and burble from the exhaust. Kind of strange that some report that problem with Corsas and some never experience it.
I will say that when I ran a B&B Route 66 exhaust on my '00, I had to install an X-pipe due to excessive popping and burble. It got really annoying.

I agree the difference in the cars is puzzling. My LT4 had none of these issues, the C6 a little and this C5 a lot.
I assume any x pipe will work? The Corsa is very expensive.
I had just the Corsa Sport exhaust with no X-Pipe and the popping annoyed me so later added the X-Pipe and is much improved, not eliminated, but I would say sounds just right. Worth the $$.
I have Corsa, and an x-pipe, AND a custom tune that targeted the popping. The tune helped a lot, but popping is STILL not completely eliminated. X-pipe actually seemed to quiet down exhaust overall, but I seem to recall that the x-pipe may actually have contributed to more popping. I have run Halltech Stinger intake, and stock intake, but no change.
I have the x pipe and cats removed with corsa extreme and I do get some pop between gears if I'm on it hard . But just easing thru the gears I have none
I also have a 02 6spd. I installed a corsa extreme exhaust, I also had popping. There is a you tube video that shows that the factory H-pipe has a 5/8 collector inside that makes the popping sound. I installed a corsa x-pipe a month later. Popping pretty much GONE!!!,

Could you please provide a link to said video? I couldn't find it.

I have a Corsa x-pipe for sale if you're interested.....

I think some of it may be in the TUNE... I have seen where others have had some success in getting rid of burble by tuning it out...(not the exhaust system the actual mechanical tune) too much fuel, too much air, too much timing... etc.
I don't know for sure, but kinda made sense to me...maybe I'm too gullible.
Possible Urban Myth...

Zip Corvette told me that the Borla x pipe would not work with my Corsa axle back system; they said I needed the Corsa x pipe. I thought any brand x pipe would work, anyone using different x pipes with a Corsa?

It's true. My tune took out MOST of the popping. But, I still have a little on deceleration, because I have to be careful not to go too rich due to stringent California smog tests. :-(

I have a different x-pipe, which Corsa blamed for my tips not aligning, although my GHL Bullets aligned perfectly with the same x-pipe. I had to do quite a bit of manipulating of Corsa mufflers, over-axle pieces and elbows to get the tips aligned. Once aligned, my left muffler is twisted slightly more downward in the front, but that's the only position I can have it in so the tips align. I'm probably the only person who notices it when looking straight-on at the back of the car, but it shouldn't have to be posiioned like that.
Not saying that Cora's x-pipe will NOT have the same issue (I bet there's no difference) , but if you go Corsa x-pipe, you'll have more levergae with the company if you do have a problem. What's the difference in price between Corsa's and others' x-pipes?

The new Corsa x pipe is over $350; the new Borla about $230.
That's a ridiculous difference. Didn't someone above in this thread say they had a used Corsa? Maybe they'd be reasonable. Why not buy used? As long as they aren't mangled, it should be fine.

I offered it for $230 shipped..... and was declined. Unless someone else buys it, it will become "garage" art.

The offer was not declined; I made a counter offer of $200 and was waiting for an answer. I guess I just received it. Perhaps a misunderstanding of what I meant.
