Maybe so, but my calipers, which I painted with Folia Tec caliper paint at a cost of about $35 six years ago, still look like new. If I can get that kind of durability from a DIY job, I'm happy.
FYI I don't agree with the price. The OP Overpaid IMO. Mike did mine and they were $480, which was $40 to ship there and $440 shipped back done, and that's including a three stage coat job.
