In the passenger side footwell, remove the small carpeted toe-kick panel and that will reveal a connector with a pair of hot wires and a ground wire. The orange wire is constant 12v and the yellow wire is 12v ignition switched. The black wire is ground. Either one of the power leads will handle a 10A load. Fuse 11 in the instrument panel fuse box is for the accessory power harness.

This pigtail was removed on the 2004s. I ended up changing head units to get XM and Bluetooth.

On 04’s, fuse 11 (20 amp) in the passenger fuse panel is an ignition ON feed for Accessory Power. I used this fuse for adding power to a dash cam and per comments to me from Mr. Sam, it does NOT provide power to anything else. Also, fuse number 22 noted as Body Control Module – Ignition 3 in the owner’s manual is open and does not power anything.

Hope this helps.

In the foot well tap fuse #11. It is switched and will be hot only when the ignition is on and in acc. I did it this way when I changed mt mirror to an Onstar Mirror.

Very nice installation! Just a suggestion, did you considered installing the antenna centered on the top edge of the hatch glass instead?

Thanks for the link, it helped. That install must have been another year. He was talking about fuse # 26 (F/TNKDR) on his vehicle. I found that on my 04 that fuse #32 was for (F/TNKDR). Once that was replaced, fuel door release worked and rear hatch opened. Again thanks so much.

Your idea about relocating antenna was right on. Changed location yesterday. Looks much better on glass. Thanks

Not on a 2004...These wires are only in passenger footwell on 97-03

2004 connect under the steering column
