I sat in on the seminar where two engineers from the corvtte plant answered questions you had about your c5 or c6. At the end the guys said dielectric Grease on your weather stripping. It was also said that to much is not a good thing how much is a enough?

just enough to put a sheen on the rubber but not feel greasy.
Engineer sounds like my Dentist. Definitely brush, but not too hard... how hard is "too hard"? If you start having catastrophic dental problems, then you know you brushed "too hard" or did not brush "hard enough".
Dont worry about it, its not rocket science, just apply it and rub it in. Its very well suited for the rubber and in ten years = zero difference in how it looked or performed.
