I have the factory surround that I had painted. Looks just like the one from Mid-America and looks really good on the car when you have to run a front plate.
I'm ordering the one from Mid America. It comes painted so it's an easy bolt-on (it's already painted the color of my car).
Jack, you said yours is factory. I went to my local dealer and they looked at me like I was nuts. How did you find the factory part? (In case the Mid America part doesn't work out.)
Thank you for the part number. I'll call the dealer in the am.
Where did you guys get paint to match? I know of a local shop that will match the paint but they are super expensive. They are worth the $$ but depending on the cost of the part, between paint and the part it could be more than Mid America.

Just find an automotive paint store in your town. They will mix up some matching paint for you.
I bought mine from Mid America painted. Believe it was about $90. I would recommend a couple of extra "clear coats" before installation because it does take a beating from road wear.
Bought my Mag Red II surround for the 2004 from Motorworks. Matched right up but had to get screws from dealer. Wasn't sure which was correct ones looking at diagram so bought both sets of screws and the smaller worked. Looks real good.
I just ordered one today from my local dealer, $45 in tomorrow. They said there were several in the warehouse. I think I will probably leave mine black.
Just installed my new front plate surround. GM10288541 $34.30 It fits perfect, looks great, and actually looks better unpainted, in black, plus it won't chip. Now, the front of the car looks like it supposed to have a front plate!

Redhotts, did the surround come with screws or did you use the ones that held on the plastic plate that had Corvette on it?
The reason I asked was I took off the plastic plate and the screws felt like they were in the bumper -- meaning it felt like it wouldn't take much to mess up the threads or holes.
