Default Continental Ext Dw rubber ? review

im looking into getting new rims for my ae car and going with 18's all around my tire choices are some what limited , was looking for actual reviews from actual drivers , im looking at Continental Ext Dw ( summer tire) was wondering if there were any thoughts on that brand , Michelins are another option but way more $ and the rears are on back order, the rim sizes are what's bringing it down to these two choices , thx all , keep cruising ,

I installed a set of DW's on my 05 C6 and couldn't be happier with them. My car is supercharged with over 550hp at the wheels and the stock Goodyear run flats were just terrible for traction, and hard ride, I could not believe the difference the Continentals made as soon as I drove the first mile. The ride is smoother with much better traction in the lower gears, plus the tires are lighter then the Goodyears. I got a super deal from Discount tire online.

I have the Conti DW's on my car right now. Got them two years ago and couldn't be more pleased. Quiet, nice tread design, great in wet and dry conditions and handle just fine. Price was very good also, you can't go wrong.

I agree with the posts thus far. I have the Conti ExtremeContact DW's on my '04 Z06. Traction is awesome, especially for the price. Smooth and quiet ride. They do have soft sidewalls though. So if your into tracking your car, these probably aren't for you. Great performance for your dollar though.

Soft sidewall is the biggest drawback. If you're just cruising the streets this won't be a big deal and maybe actually an advantage-- smoother/softer ride.

Had them on previous corvettes and I was impressed with their traction on dry and wet surfaces. They run smooth AND Quiet!

...I've already picked out my Continental tires which I plan to order for my second set of wheels...still have to select the wheels to go with the tires

My thoughts exactly. (except that I put them on my '95 Corvette this summer)

Love the traction and ride, dislike the sidewalls. Overall grip is great the turn in just suffers from the soft sidewall. With 386 rwtq I can go full throttle in first in the dry easy, and full throttle in second in the wet without spinning, even after 15000 miles.

they do have a really soft sidewall, so if you like fast turns, you will end up with a lot of outer edge wear. Great tire for the money though.

I have them right now. I really like them but like everyone says, the sidewall is a downside.

I am planning for my next tire to be a set of Michelin PSS's. General consensus seems to be that it's pretty much the best tire in it's category.
