Don't waste your money on the blades.i tryed them they didn't last very long I was disappointed .i use the Bosch blades,a bit expensive but I'm happy with them...
I LOVE the product, but NEVER use it on a Corvette Coupe with a clear roof panel. ANYT of the RainX that gets on the clear targa top will damage it. That goes for just applying the product, OR those of you that use their washer fluid especially.
As such, I have never applied it to my Corvette. It doesn't come out unless the weather is beautiful anyhow.
at the ziebart in town they have a windshield coating they apply that's guaranteed for a yr , water slides off just like rain x , 25.00 guys says come in prior to yr and redo and boom 2yrs for 1 , I really like it , I got tired of reapplying every month or so ,
I used to use it (still have some) but instead use the Rain-X window cleaner. Have a Bottle in each car and one in the garage, I clean my windows at least every other day with it (has Rain-X in it) with Microfiber towels, works great. I buy it at Target....

I've been using Rain-x for years and I like not having to se the wipers. I try not to use them so I won't get streaks in the glass from the blades. There is also another good reason for using Rain-x. It makes it much easier to clean the windshield if you get bugs or other debris on it, comes right off!
If you keep your windshield clean, you don't need Rain-x. I use Invisible Glass and rain is no issue. The key is cleanliness.
One benefit of Rain-x is it does seem to make it easier to scrape ice off the windshield of the truck.
Not true, Rain-X keeps the drops from joining together and creating a sheet of water which messes up your vision, just plain clean glass allows the droplets to join together and making it harder to see. I have always been **** about clean glass for almost 40 years now, Rain-X or equiv makes a nice difference.

You are right. I too, am a fanatic about a clean windshield and Rain-X definitely helps.
I've used rain-x off and on for years and have always liked it.
This past Summer, I installed new Bosch blades on my DD. They were great. A few weeks later, I washed the car and applied rain-x. The wipers began chattering terribly, like they were sticking to the glass. I must have done something wrong. I'll try to clean everything again and re-apply.
On a side note, I'd like to try aquapel. I understands it lasts much longer.

I can't use Rain-X on a motorcycle windshield so I keep it clean with Endust. (I realize Endust can have a wax) There is a night and day difference between a clean and dirty windshield.
Move to my Vette and truck. I use 0000 steel wool and Invisible Glass cleaner and water sheds off without the droplets joining together thus blurring my vision. I don't need wipers until it is raining hard.
At night you cannot see the droplets but can hear them smacking the windshield. The key is reducing surface adhesion. A dirty windsheild will not allow the water's surface tension to form a bead and roll off.
I've used Rain-X in the past and know how well it works. (Not disputing the product) I don't need it anymore since switching to the steel wool and Invisible glass. Maybe Invisible glass has some sort of polish / wax, don't know. I do know I can see through the droplets as they fling off my windshield.

On our way home from Fun Fest we ran into heavy rain. The Rain-X prevented me from needing my wipers. Actually using the wipers was worse than letting the Rain-X do its thing. You also need to be going relatively fast (est. 45+mph) for it to sheet off. If you're going slower you'll still need your wipers unless the rain is coming down real heavy.
I used rain-x on my daily driver for years and loved it. Once I started using a clay bar on the 'vette, I tried the clay bar on my daily driver, including the windshield. I found that I don't need to use rain-x anymore because I get the same result with the clay bar. The clay bar gets the windshield so clean, I rarely have to use the wipers on my daily driver.
I used it all the time until my son's car needed a windshield repair and supposedly the use of rain x on his car did not allow the sealant to bond properly. I'm not sure if this is true but that's what he was told.
I used it a long time ago and loved the way the water just rolled off of the windshield. As stated above, I often didn't even have to turn the wipers on. However, when I did, it made the wipers stutter across their travel so hard that I worried about the mechanism being damaged. I quit using it for that reason alone.
