Not trying to rehash the hundreds of threads on this topic but I've got a question:
I have some HB wobble. If I look at the belt grooves it wobbles about +/- 1/16".
BUT-
-I have no belt chirping.
-The tensioner does not move in relationship to the wobble at all.
-And here's the kicker - if I gun sight the edge of the pulley against the frame or the steering rack I see NO noticeable wobble at all. This is all at idle.
Is it possible that the grooves are somehow not concentric due to the machining/manufacturing process of the balancer?
I'd hate to spend the $$$$ on replacing it if I really don't need to...
04 6spd 40k miles....I have a little wobble... I put a couple of paint marks on mine so I know if the outer ring is turning on the inner ring and I also measured the distance of the damper to the motor and the steering rack to see if it's moving on the snout... I have no chirping, no belt wear, or vibration... just a tiny bit of wobble... I choose to just keep an eye on mine.
