Through some unfortunate circumstances, my Pop is about to come into ownership of a 2003 Z/06.
I have a '65 Coupe and Pops has a 2015 Z/06, so it's not like the car is unwelcomed, in fact it should be a blast.
But the question is, what is a fair price?
It has some sort of high performance clutch, long-tube headers, and valve springs that are said to be in preparation for a cam swap.
It is blue, but the rear bumper cover is a different color, supposedly some sort of treatment or protective application? Interior looked to be black, no two tone, and it has 77k miles on it.
Going rate seems to be $21k-$25k. Does that seem about right?
If I had to guess, I would say you can get 18k out of it. 20 is pushing it considering it isn't really modded and you don't know exactly what it done to it.

Twenties might be a tad high for a 77K car. I would think 17-18K would be a good mid point, if the car is in very good condition and no issues.
The only Z06s that are in the 20-28K range are 02-04 models that have under 50K miles and in very good to excellent condition with zero issues. Of course higher end of price indicates lower mileage and higher year models. (03-04 under 20K miles will probably be mid to high twenties).
Thank you for all of the responses. The rear bumper cover was suspect to us as well.
The current owner was wanting $29k but would bring that down to $28k. Sounded very high to me. He is fairly young, and I think he was adding what he wants on top of what he owes, as well as adding the mods and cost of the installs.
Of course those of us with a few more years realize that it doesn't work that way, so hopefully he will listen to reason.
Thank you for helping me out, it is much appreciated.

consider printing out this post and handing it to him
it's rare all of us say the same thing and when that does happen there's usually a reason
