Yes you hear about them nightly. How hard was it to hear about a murder in the 60ies and 70ies, and how many papers wanted to put a murder on the front page?
Back in the 60s and 70s murder was big news and many times would take up the entire front page. That's how they sold newspapers. It would also be the lead story on the local TV news. Now it's so common they barely mention it.
Not sure if your comments were directed at me or not...
They were't directed toward you or anyone else specifically in the thread. I'm just tired of the fear mongering and everything getting blown of proportion these days.
So I decided to go on my own rant
But anyway, my opinion and belief is stated above, at least on the corvette forum we can have a nice debate without trying to shoot each other, and at the end of the day we can agree to disagree.

I guess I worded that wrong, My intent behind that was from town to town. Yes it would be on local papers, and local news, but a murder 100 miles away you probably would have never heard about. Now a lady gets shot in her car and people in Britain are reading about it right now.
Does anyone else have a calmer demeanor when carrying? For myself, I find that I react in a much calmer manner to irritating things when I am armed. It is an added responsibility to my everyday life.
I learned weapon safety from my Dad and his brother, out behind Grandmas privy. The military continued teaching me what a firearm can do, and I think I learned the lesson well.
The clowns doing road rage type crap have never learned to respect weapons, other people, or even their selves.
If everyone who was armed acted in the same manner as yourself, we wouldn't have issues. Unfortunately, it's not the case. Kudos for being responsible though
