I have looked into head units and I think the single Din might be for me.
Still on the fence but Has anyone installed a motorized LCD single Din head unit?
I kinda like the Jenson VX7012...thoughts? Experiences?
I would talk to Dennis at Double D Mods. I know he does alot of double din installs, but he probably could recommend a nice single-din for ya!!
i would never recommend a single din flip out
They are not the best option and we have sold some in th epast only to have them break...
the double din version of this would be the Jensen VX7022 which is 479.99 plus shipping and you get
your bezel modified
Jenson vx7022 with nav
roemvet1
brackets
antenna adapter

Does the $479 include bezel modification? If so I'm seriously interested.

I had a motorized single din in a different vehicle. Made it miserable in the heat when I didn't have the extra A/C vents. I have a double din touch screen in my Vette and love it. It's a lower end model, but I don't have to worry about the A/C issue and it helped to modernize the Vette a bit.

I love the looks of the Double Din mod....it really modernizes the dash..
Glad to see you are considering the double din mod. I originally wanted to do the flip out radio, but everyone on this forum convinced me not to. So I called Dennis and decided to go double. I originally wanted to keep a lower end budget on it, but after I thought about it I decided I only wanted to do it once. I spoke with Dennis and he gave me such a great deal, I went with a Kenwood with all the bells and whistles right off the bat. I installed everything myself and after a few minor issues, I got everything working great. I have every option I wanted and I won't need to upgrade for a very long time, if ever. Do it right and do it once. Glad I waited to spend the money instead of going cheaper.
Last year I bought the earlier version of the Jenson (the 6020) from Dennis along with related items (bezel mod, etc) and the Jenson has been a rock solid performer despite the low price. Amazingly good sound, pretty fast boot up when turning on (about 10 seconds) and the NAV works so good. This updated Jenson probably has a few new features that mine doesn't have but its a good value. Go for it. Tip: Mount the GPS antenna on top of the radio. The plastic dash doesn't interfere with the signal at all and no wires to run! Completely hidden and performs flawlessly.

If you were to ever find a book entitled "This is how to give Customer Service" you can rest assured it was written by Dennis at Double D Mods... Unbelievable support, great prices. He rules the audio market for Vettes and many others.
