Hi everybody, so I have a m12 trans that sheared some teeth off my 3rd gear and the teeth off the 3rd gear countershaft. I will probably be selling it but would like to know what it worth with those issues. Those are the only problems with the trans. It had no more than 6k miles on it.
Hate to say it, but probably about $0
There are plenty of non-shredded trannies out there for purchase.
I might be wrong... but nobody else is offering up anything more positive for you.
all that metal would have gotten churned up in all the other gears, synchros, and bearings. That's like an explosion man. I hate to say it, but the trans is probably toast. how did you shear the teeth?
You can buy a c5z trans in good working condition for around $1k from what I've seen. Not sure why anyone would pay much for one that probably needs a total rebuild. The cost for a shop to overhaul it could be over $1k. I would probably ask one of the trans sponsors what it's worth, if anything.
if one thing goes in them it more then often the whole trans will need to be rebuilt...been there done that...other then the case it not worth a whole lot sad to say
Your post originally was a reply to mine, so Kelowna BC Canada.
But I'm guessing this is for the OP, and looking at his username I'd take a wild guess; Idaho.
