Well I decided I wanted a beefier sounding exhaust and didn't really want to spend a lot of money, so a few hours after I passed my California smog check I decided to cut exhaust off.
I was in the Los Angeles area last night and went through some tunnels and man does this thing sound awesome.
Originally I wanted to chop off the entire piped right before the exhaust but my cutoff disk was too small. So I cut roughly a 2 x 2 square off the bottom.
I still get flow through the exhaust. Sincw i wanted a permanent sound, I decided not to buy any cutouts. Besides for my taste this sounds better than having a new exhaust system.

Hum might not pass next inspection as part of it requires a "muffler" to be there.
When I ask the muffler shop to do a muffler bypass he though I wanted a delete since he also does inspection said it could not be done. Then I show him a picture that the "muffler" would still be there.
He okay it and for $100 I have a louder system and legal. I did not feel like paying corvette tax for a cat back system over $1k. And sounds good to me

I thought of the bypass mod before but I just wanted to experiment. Next inspection is in 2 years, it should pass cause they only look to see if smoke comes out. They mainly focuse on all sensor and the most importantly the check engine light. But if it don't pass next time then I can patch it up. Easy. Thanks for checking out the post
what did you do exactly? Just got a 2x2 cut out in the pipes or in the mufflers?
When I first got mine I drilled a few 0.5 inch holes in the exhaust pipes right before the muffler, and it added a little sound and surprisingly really let the engine breath, I noticed a power gain definitely.

Yeah pretty much just cut out a square. I'll make another video soon showing the mod.
I actually did the same thing by drilling a hole that was 3/4 of an inch and made slight difference in sound. I'd say it had more backfire to it, but that's cause mainly from my plugs.
Once I fired up the car after the square cutout, I was actually scared from the sound. Sounds sooo mean. Lol.
Getting great response from this mod, everyone thanks for checking out my video and post.
