.......just noticed that the guy had his 4-way flashers on BEFORE the crash. I guess he was in a hurry to get to an emergency. Too bad for him, it became his own emergency.

Gang, I ride road bikes and mountain bikes. Falling off a mountain bike onto dirt is no big deal. The dirt gives or if you're lucky you hit a bush, get a few cuts, it hurts for about 5 minutes, you get back on the bike and ride. Falling on a road bike and hitting asphalt hurts. I've done it twice fortunately, while going slow, only 15 MPH. Lots of black and blue, lots of blood, lots of road rash, in one instances some stitches and plenty of pain that lasts for days. I've had friends who took over a month to recover. I can't imagine what its like to hit asphalt while your body is travelling at around 50 MPH and I hope I never find out.
