Z06 valve spring
Hi, I'm from the C3 forum as you can see but I'm assembling a 1998 block with vortec head. I was told that these spring would fit my vortec head without machining. I don't have my head to check it right now but after checking the dimension, I think it will.
Here is my question, which way do we put the spring? There is one end with a tapper. Is there different spring retainer on these spring than regular one?
Here's the picture, on the left a Z06 spring and on the right a 1998 vortec engine spring.

Hi,
The big end of the spring goes down just like you show it in your picture. The LS retainer is much smaller than a SBC. Also, the LS valve stems are 8mm so you need different retainers & keepers for your SBC valves.
