I stopped at the Chevy dealer today and test drove a C7 Z51, 3LT - the car was so great I had to order one. I ordered to one below - 2016 C7 Z51 3LT Vert.
Can't wait - I'm told it will be 8 to 10 weeks. Plan on keeping one of the C5's and either selling or trading the triple black 2001.
I've seen that you too own both a C7 and a C5 - how do you decide which to drive?
Right now the wife seems fine with both - how long does that last
Thanks!
Bob F.
Very easy - the C5 looks like this (below) for now until I get time to finish it. Plus, the wife loves all Vettes so we are always good to go. She was a bit pissed when I sold her C5 last year but she was having trouble getting in/out of it so it was time.

Awesome garage setup. I have a 3 stall - 2 vettes and a workshop area. My wife thinks she deserves one stall. My argument is that I'll trade 1 stall for 1/3 of her kitchen. No further discussion. She too has become a true Vette fan - going to car shows, photography of Vettes, etc. A fascination I'll take to my grave...
I am looking to move up myselt. I am close to pulling the trigger just dealing with dealership trying to get best deal I can. I am a little put off by all the negative info I am reading on the C7 reliability, hate to drop major bucks on a troubled vette.
Just like the C5 and C6, the C7 has it's share of issues, but none that were, for me, showstoppers. Like the previous gens, there will always be those who post loudly and frequently about issues with this, "$XX,XXX car", they feel should have no issues at that price point. Do some research on other high-dollar makes/models and you'll see the quality and reliability are not that different without even factoring the price range.
I bought my '14 Z51 M7 used and it has been perfectly behaved so far. If I was going to wait for the "perfect quality/reliability rated Vette" before buying my next one, I'd go to my grave never having driven one.
In the meantime, I'm enjoying the hell out of my C7!
