Default Hello from Massdrop

Hey everyone,

My name is Lukas and I’m the Buyer for our new Corvette community at Massdrop. Massdrop is a private community-curated marketplace for enthusiasts. My role is to to advocate on your behalf to source and organize group buys for the products you guys most desire.

We currently organize group buys for 12 communities ranging from Audiophile to Men’s Style and have recently added Corvettes. I was previously the buyer for our Everyday Carry community, and since I am Massdrop’s resident gearhead, I got tapped to launch Corvettes.

I’ve been a car guy since I was about 12 years old and grew up watching the Powerblock on Spike TV with shows like Horsepower TV, Trucks, and Xtreme 4x4 as my childhood education. I learned a lot from my first car, a 1991 Mazda Rx7, which I promptly crashed and had to figure out how to fix. I’ve been an active member in the Audi community for over 5 years now and I’m a moderator on AudiForums, where I’ve written numerous DIY articles over the years on maintaining and upgrading my car.

I love the space that forums like this provide for knowledge sharing. I’ve been doing a bunch of research over the past 2 months and hope to learn even more from you all here on CorvetteForum. I’m still saving up for my own Corvette, so I don’t have a ton of hands-on knowledge, but I just got back from SEMA, where most of the manufacturers and vendors I spoke with were excited about what we’re doing. I’m also excited to launch this community and can’t wait to see what we can achieve together.

I’d like to maintain an open dialogue with you guys, so feel free to ask me any questions and I’ll do the same as I continue to learn here. To get things started: what are the top products that you’d like to see group buys for? Have you been waiting around for a sale on a certain item?

Glad to be here, let me know your thoughts in the thread.

Here's a link to our Corvette splash page: Massdrop Corvette Community

Welcome to the forum as a supporting vendor. Group buys are always popular especially when the price is right and the product is needed. Do you have a web site that you could share with us?

Thanks for the welcome Vetteman. I've added a link to our Corvette splash page in my main post. There's also a link to our website in my signature as FYRARMS mentioned.

Glad to be here!

I certainly wish you the best.

I went to the site to look around but didn't want to cough up my e mail information just to look. Perhaps later I will do so, but wish I could simply look around first, to see if this fits my needs .

I know you would never sell the information, but ownership and even companies are not always forever, so I hesitate. .

Hey strand rider,

I understand where you're coming from, but rest assured we won't be selling anyones information. We only use member's email addresses for sending out our product notifications (which can be disabled) and updating you about the status of a drop you've joined.

All of the C5 listings can be accessed through this page, the links used there don't require a login to view (but you will still need to create a login to join the drop or post in the discussion.)

Thanks for the support Echo!

Are there any products you'd like to see group buys for?

Hey Sinister,

I hear ya, but having our website be private is one thing that enables us to offer the deals we can. The only info you need to submit to create an account is an email address, we don't ask for any more information until you are going through the checkout process. You can also view the C5 group buys we have running by following the links in this thread.

Thanks for your support, hope to see you on the site!

Same as a few others. Can't even view the site at all without signing up with an email address, can't bother. No clue about potential savings etc.
That said I am also an impulse buyer. Decide what I want and check my favorite vendor or 2 for availability. Buy. Done. Not by any means wealthy, but not a shopper either.
