Google it. That problem is extremely common and there are hundreds of threads about it. It could be an easy fix such as using Techron Fuel additive when you fill up or just switching brands of gas. Most of the time it is caused by buildup on the fuel level sensor. Mine did it. After a year of trying different things I filled up with Shell gas and the problem went away. The dealer can reflash your computer and that can fix it too.

I battling the same issue, the Techron tricks did not seem to work.....now I am trying to keep it above 3/4 with a tier 3 gas 93 octane for a while see if that might help.
Maybe just me the Techon seems to have helped a little if possible, seems to go a little past 3/4 before 0 last time....
Had some work done by a shop they recommended live with it until you need trans or major work, they need to take the tanks out to fix.

Try the Techron first. I'd use a bottle full for two tanks of gas to see if that helps. A lot of C-5 owners use a bottle every 6t months or so for maintenance . I had a 2000 that had the problem, but neither of my 2001s had the problem. I did put a bottle of techron in all cars about evvery 6 months. Changing the parts out of the tank is messy, and sorta dangerous since you're dealing with gasoline, and there is no way not to spill some. It isn't rocket science, but it can explode just like a rocket.

Techron has worked for many members in getting the fuel gauge to work properly again. For the small cost, it's worth giving it a try. If that doesn't work, you can always dig deeper into the cause of the problem. But it sure won't hurt to pull the codes like 8VETTE7 says and post up the results.Originally Posted by Phanni

And if it's a 'bad case' it may well take more than one bottle. When you think the tank is about 1/2, dump a bottle in and fill it. (You are using premium 93, right?) Run the tank through and repeat the process if necessary. If that doesn't do it, then maybe you'll need to dig deeper into it. Don't over complicate it unless ya have to. Good luck.Originally Posted by Vetteman Jack

I had the same issue about 4 years ago with my 02. I use the 20oz. concentrate every other tank. No problems since.

I was also able to get my fuel gage to correct its self with the techron. Give it some time to work. When I was having the problem, i would fill up with the additive and take drives that would use at least half or more of the tank of fuel. Then add every couple tank full. No problems lately, I use Costco fuels that they but there own additives in.

The 10% ethanol in most of our gas has been the contributing factor to this problem in C5 Corvettes. The ethanol causes corrosion (oxidation of varnish and gums) which impede the conductivity of the fuel sensors. I tried Techron without much luck, not to say it hasn't worked for others. But, I tried Lucas Ethanol Fuel Conditioner with stabilizers, and used regularly it worked for me. A $10, 16oz bottle at Walmart will treat up to 80 gallons. If the Techron doesn't work for you give this a try. This is also good for cars that sit for lengthy periods of time.

16 oz bottle treats 80 gallons? What the heck is in it? Originally Posted by Carcrisis

I also tried Techron without any luck. One tank of Shell V-Power and my gauge started working again. Sticking with it.

That's right, 1 ounce treats 5 gallons of gasoline. I don't know what's in it, but It works.Originally Posted by JR-01
