Trying to install led taillights on my 01 ..
They are from Corvette America it said in order to install i would need to also order 2 50watt load resistors. When i opened it all up , the resistors instructions say to install inline in each turn signal . My question is , all each set of taillights blink when activated. The 2 on left and 2 on the right ..... so do i really need 4 resistors ( 1 for each lense ) or am i missing something here ??
I am not familiar with installing reaistors hopefully someone can chime in. Personally I think you would have been better off buying a hyperflash harness. That way you dont need to install resistors. I already had the harness when I got my halo leds and they work perfect.
The LED tail lights have built in resistors (the aluminum box on the back of each tail light). However, if you have other LEDs installed on your C5, the likelyhood of hyperflash increases even though there are built in resistors on the tail lights.
The other resistors you have in your box are installed in the front of your C5, one on each of the turn signals in the front. This will cure hyperflash. Resistors do get hot and you need to be careful about where you mount them.
However if you want an easier install, buy a hyperflash harness (we have them on sale this weekend at 50% off, PM me if you want the link).
Ok so i can just install the rear taillights and then move to tbe front bli kets & i stall the resistors in them...correct ??

Yes, though I would try the tail lights first before installing the resistors. Usually everything works fine unless you have other LED modifications, especially things like switchbacks. If you dont have any hyperflash then no need to install the resistors.
The ones installed on the tail lights aren't so bad because they only get hot when you have turn signals or brakes on. The Fronts get incredibly hot because they draw power with the daytime running lights as well as the turn signals.
