57k miles, bbk intake, rest is stock. black/mod red, about a 1/4" tear on the driver's side of seat, otherwise interior is in great shape. Exterior is about an 8/10.
Clean title, no accidents. STL, MO area.
I'm curious what is an acceptable range/price for these?

My thought with ext being 8/out of 10 is 15,000$ most--i would look for a z under 20,000 miles with ext and int being 9.5/10 paying about 20,000$

Well, based on my champagne taste and beer budget, I'm willing to look past a few minor imperfections to get into a Z. I don't want a trainwreck, though.
Man, where are you finding similar Zs for $15k w/ that mileage? I feel like a scourge the webs, and the closest I can find is over 100k around for that kind of cash.

In Illinois where I live that car would go for $20000 all day and I personally think you'd be a fool to not buy it
I wouldn't want to pay more than $18k. Were the valve springs replaced? That's in the year range of bad valve springs.
Make sure to check the blue book value as well. There are a few ways to do that. KBB is one way and it's $16-17k from good to very good condition. Yes I know some people don't like using KBB but that's what a lot of buyers look at. If you ever have to sell it you don't want to eat $2-3k because of the original inflated purchase price. I paid $21.5k for an 04 Z that was in excellent condition (avatar pic). KBB was about $21k for excellent condition. I was comfortable with that.
I think it's time for the price of our Zs to start going up (some based on milage) but just by the fact that these cars are entering the Early Vintage Super Cars territory. With a strong aftermarket in parts. I still think any one that want a bargain Z should be looking for High Milage cars that are candidates for restoration or track use. And once restored or well preserved cars (no matter the milage) value should start going back up.
I know this will bug the buyers, but it will increase the image of the C5Zs.

Where are you finding these cars??
Ive never seen a Z under 60k miles for less than like $18.5k. Maybe it's because Im in CA but still....paying $20k for a mint sub 20k mile car would be an absolute steal IMO. Seller would have to be crazy

I would pay 20K for a sub 20K Z06 all day long in 20K condition. I could turn around and make 5-7K on each car you find me like that. Send me advertisements on any and all 20K Z06s for $ 20,000.00. I do not need it but would buy to make a quick 5 K for each one (minus shipping).
No way in Atlanta you would find a sub 20K Z06 for 20K.
The only reason I did not say to the original poster that 18K is a great buy for under 60K Z06 is because he stated it had a few issues (torn seat, paint 8 out of 10). That makes it an 16-18.5 K car.
If it were in very good condition, it is worth about 20K retail.

Why are you only looking local? I assume this is a car you plan on owning awhile? I was living in SoCal when I got mine, spent a year looking - here, various car sites, and craigslist. I used craigslist and kept moving out further and further, and found a spectacular MY '04Z with 17k on it in Great Falls Montana. Traded emails with the seller for weeks, then flew up there, and had a 2 day drive home that I'll never forget.
Take your time and don't be afraid to fly out, I've done it 3 times now and every Car has been awesome.
