I put ceramics on an 84 I had previously. The stopping ability was TERRIBLE ! ! I use nothing but Hawk pads now.

I used Hawk HPS pads on my '00 and the brake dust was really low and they performed very well.

I use Hawk HPS pads as well, with slotted rotors. Then dust noticeably more than the OEM pads/rotors did, but they bite a lot better too. I use Rejex on my wheels so wiping them down after each drive is a snap.

I'm waiting till next year to put on my slotted rotors and ceramic pads. I have OEM on now, will I notice a difference in the breaking distance? Obviously this is important.

If you want a quality aftermarket pad that is truly low dust but still performs take a look at the Carbotech 1521 pad. Low dust stops like OEM if not better and last longer. 100% non-corrosive dust will not harm your paint or wheels.

If interested let me know I will be happy to help you.

Carbotech™ Bobcat 1521™ The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. Mine is a daily driver.
I used the Wearever ceramic pads from the neighborhood 'boutique' auto parts store. No dust and the stopping seems just as good as the general's pads.
I'm very easy on brakes. The set I replaced had 110K miles on them and still had more to go but it was the beginning of winter and I hate kneeling in snow.
