Default C5 convertible leak

My vette leaks between the window and soft top when it rains hard. I took it to the dealer and they said it is a known issue with no fix. They adjusted the weathersealing but admit it still leaks, just not as bad. They said the weathersealing is discountinued and there is no fix. Really???

Surely there is a fix.

Any help is appreciated.

You drive yours in the rain? Just kidding. I'm sure that the weathersealing is available from one of our forum vendors.

I have a number of files that discusses water leaks in the C5. If you'd like a copy of them, PM me your e-mail address and I'll forward them to you. Some are too large to attach here on the forum or I would do just that.

I've own my c5 very for 3 years now and with 2 factory soft tops. 2nd top was good used and through insurance claim but anyways, the only fix is new weatherstripping. I've tried to seal the first top with sealant and work for short period

Only fix is new weatherstripping which cost a good amount of change.

My dealer that sold me my car gave me a ton of B/S and I really don't want to talk about it.

I had the top replaced and new weatherstrip installed on my 2000 two and a half years ago. It had been leaking at the joint between the two strips above the window on the passenger side.

Leak now gone. Installer supplied the Robbins top. I got the new weatherstrip from Gene and Patick. They are now doing business as Cultrag and are forum vendors.
