Good read. I agree with the writer of the article. Sure the technology/electronics are not up to par with todays cars, but overall the C5 is great buy even by todays standards. The performance and fun factor makes the C5 a blast to drive.

I'd have to agree with the writer of that article - the C5 is one heck of a bang for your buck and is still a lot of fun to drive.

Anybody who can write and publish an entire article that makes my corvette buying decision even slightly reasonable is AA ok with me .
Additionally, although this is in the eye of the beholder, I was checking out a frontal three quarter view on a clean c6 while stopped at a light. The ridges across the hood and the fenders were a direct fail in comparison to the fairer shape of the c5 from the same angle. The two cars look so much alike it took that angle to really draw a clear distinction as to why I favor the C5.

NICE! I was in traffic yesterday at a stop light and stopped perpendicular to a c6 sitting on a used car lot, the front to back lines are really similar...I still want a c6z or GS one day tho...bang for buck is c5 all day long.

My wife saw this and wanted to know if I wrote it under a pen name. Lol. I have had a similar stable of pony cars with my BULLITT being my favorite. Always wanted a corvette and after going to the Bonderaunt school of performance driving in Phoenix I knew it was the car for me. And the C5 was one heck of a bang for the buck ( plus I love the lines and pop up headlights).
Excellent. Thanks for the post. Spot on, I bought my 02 C5 Coupe because it's a Vette, it was inexpensive and it isn't collectible. Allows me to make mods, personalize it and drive it like I stole it!
Bought my c5 strictly because it was the fastest car I could afford. That said I fell in love with it. It's not perfect and there are plenty of things I am improving, but it's lines, spirit, and character are awesome.

And to that I say my friend you hit the jackpot!
Come on, these are one of the most underrated cars on the market today. They deserve a lot more credit than they're getting.
But on a side note I like how the writer tends to write about the "underdog" cars (Porsche 996 & C5 Corvette)...I'm a sucker for automotive journalism so lets see what's next!
