'04 C5 Z06 vs '16 Camaro SS pics
I had my '04 Z over at the dealer for some work and I saw a new '16 SS parked nearby where I had parked so I snapped a few pics for comparison.
I think the Camaro looks good by itself but when parked near my Vette it just looks so big I'm not sure I like it.
One thing I found interesting is I have 18's all around with 35 profile tires and my tires look like truck tires next to the Camaro's.
I think the C5 Z still stands the test of time despite its age. I am impresed with the new power levels of the Camaro though. I read they have the same 1/4 times as a bone stock C5 Z. Luckily, mine isn't stock.

I agree, the C5 is still a great looking car!

Its so true the c5z is still so sexy. I dont think it will ever lose its looks. But i have to say i had a 2010 camaro ss all white and thats a damn good lokking car as well. And the 16' looks even better than the 10'. The camaro kicks the mustang all the way down the street. But as a c5 z06 owner as well, the z06 is timeless

New Camaro is VERY nice.
Although IMHO the C5 Z06 still has it after all these years.
Are you running a square 18" wheel set up?
Your car looks great.
Thanks for sharing.

The new Camaro doesn't look like a muscle car any longer. Looks like a sporty family car now.

Funny, I've always thought the same thing. No matter how much muscle they build into it, it always leans me towards an impression of what I think Chrysler would have sculpted if they'd have built a 2-door descendant of their early Chrysler 300s.

It looks chunky compared to a Z, but shorter and narrower. Lowering the new Camaro would really help the looks. Can't do anything about the tiny side glass, and resultant restricted views. It does have a better suspension than a stock C5.

I have not had any issues with the TC or AH. I ran 285/305 at the track (road course) on slicks and also no issues.

I have had a slew of Z28's and always loved them. Im on my first Corvette a 2002 Z06. I think the new Camaros, Mustangs and MOPAR things look like bricks compared to the Vette. What do those things weigh? I won't be going back any time soon! My Chevy dealer told me the new Camaro tires, on the hot ones, are so competition oriented that they wont even pass the state inspection for tread depth on it's first inspection. (new cars don't get a inspection)

The camaro looks good but the vette looks way better. I'm lowered on stock bolts also but when I'm on track I run 18's all the way around 295/315 (hoosiers)front and rear with no handling issues or tc

There are things I like and dislike about the new SS, but overall it's a great performer. With that said, your Z looks absolutely gorgeous and I would prefer it over the SS any day of the week.

problems with TC AH will arise when the diameter of F to R gets to be equal (same size tire) or close to equal
the OEM ratio had the F at 97% of the R diameter
I worked for a thrill ride company that had 295s all around on all of the Z06s and the TC would be very intrusive if you got any slip angle in the car at all
so when I went to 18s all around, I chose tire sizes to keep the same F to R diameter ratio
if you just street drive in a "normal" manner you probably wouldn't have any issues, but if you plan to track or autocross or drive aggressively, you most likely will have to turn off the TC AH first
