We decided when we started looking that with the car being a primarily summer, good weather car, that we didn't want a black interior which narrowed the options. I found a nice 2004 Blue (forgot the actual color) but wife didn't like the color. I'd have bought it.
So, now that you have the **** problem resolved, I would suggest investigating why it jammed/broke to begin with. As I mentioned above, I can spin mine all day long in either direction and all they do is lift and drop the buckets repeatedly until my hands are too tired to keep going.
If you want to replace the broken **** you could try talking to Marc at VetteNut,net. He is a great Forum vendor here.
Mr. Sam
PS: I agree, a pretty combination which you can only get with a convertible. That's the only reason I bought mine except it is in Navy Blue with the same Light Oak top and interior.
Mr. Sam
Mr Sam, that's a shale top and interior, Anniv Edition. Lighter shade than light oak.
Happy you got all in order, as long as everything works fine now I would not worry about it. BTW you did an excellent job of reattatching only would use a Phillips screw instead of standard as these screws are usually reserved for wood work. Now go out and have a Happy New Year. lol.
When I first got my car I broke both of my ***** off too. Then I tried a dickman metal gear fix on one side, didn't work..ggrrrr..Bit the bullet bought 2 fresh motors and had the pro's install for me. Ya got lucky..beautiful car you got !!!!!
