My tires are date coded as being produced in 2005, and even though they only have 13,000 miles on them and have lots of tread left I will be replacing them this year. I think I waited a few years too long as it is.
Was at a car show over the summer, noticed cars with tires made in 2000, 2002 etc. Some looked pretty new under the dozen or so coats of armor all.
New to this forum and new to the Corvette family, (purchased my '04 c5 a week ago), since you're talking about tires, I was wondering if you can tell me that you rotate tires left to right or not at all?
Thanks, Bob
Still have the OEM tires on my 98, 18000 miles. I just got the oil changed before putting it away for the winter. They garage did their big long checklist and aren't shy about suggesting things to fix. They said the tires are fine.

I have some 15yr old tires on my hot rod, with about 5000 mi. on them. No cracks showing, but lot of people tell me to replace them. In last 4 year I drove it 2000 mi, so while I understand, I hate to spend about $1000 for a new set
tires age from the inside out, so you won't see any issues on the outside until it's really, really bad. Usable life of a tire once installed onto the wheel is 5 years and 6 years maybe.
