I really like that 3 piece sp16. Most people either don't want to spring for the look or dislike the rivets. Personally those look amazing.
I have 3 piece Iforged on mine and despite what the man with the ****** watch says; the car looks $4k nicer; Easily. High end wheels really put a car into that next level.
No, these are not lighter than factory although they will hold more rubber. Wheels like these are like jewelery on a woman. Sure they don't need a 6" heel, and diamonds or makeup to get the job done; but I sure as hell enjoy it more.
Saving $ doesn't guarantee some life worth living. You save what you need and enjoy the rest while you can. If at near 60yrs old, you can't come off a few grand...well, maybe you've done it wrong. No need to bash people who aren't concerned with it. Quality of life has a cost and if the man enjoys it, let him.
Do they drive or ride any better than my mag wheels? $4000 better?
Since appearance is subjective, do they look $4000 better than mine?
$4000 is insane to me.
Besides the fact I would never buy any of these, if I came across a used car for sale that had them installed the first question I would ask is "do you still have the proper OEM wheels that came with this car?" Back in the seventies folks wanted Crager SS wheels. My friends 69 vert was stolen because some lowlife wanted those wheels. The price some pay for the latest BLING is amazing ( save your old wheels for the next owner)

The hybrid SP16 is definitely on another level. I believe they are two piece but they do have the three piece look and use real fasteners.
For comparison, I had the SP16a one piece wheels on my car and they looked good, but not as special as the hybrid versions, in my opinion.
I've since moved to three piece wheels and love the look of the exposed fasteners. While not for everyone, I feel they have a look that fits the time period of the C5 extremely well.

I’m going to be 59 on FEB 3; it makes me sick, 1 year to 60.
We need to have our priorities straight. I would rather not work at McDonalds at 72 asking “would you like a hot apple pie?” but I had a car, 30 something," or whatever", so many years ago with cool wheels.
If 4K ruined your life at 60, then it didn't really matter and you had no business owning a corvette either. Not everyone on here is retiring; c5's are cheap. If someone wants to have fun with one; let them.
Of all the things people 'waste' money on; at least items like this hold value. Probably less depreciation than the corvette itself.
Hi if anybody knows Maxx_z06 wheel and tire specs that would be much appreciated I don't have tpe's though I have cc fenders but trying to achieve the same fitment
Buying cheap wheels is like buying cheap steak! on a side note if anyone wants to trade their shiny sp500's for some factory oem thin spokes I'm willing if you throw in some cash or a gift certificate to Cracker Barrel
I don't want yours toque you probably ruined them with all that sanding the machine marks off
Good luck op you are a good sport! Whatever wheels you get post those spinners up for us all to gawk at!

My New CCW's will be here in a couple of weeks. I had a few People give me crap because i chose to spend my own money on something that i really enjoy... Some people want 1k RWHP...some want a stock GM gem...as for me, i love wheels. I dont see why people always have to tell someone else how to spend thier own money. Maybe the people talking crap about us who like/buy authentic true wheels are jealous LOL

I agree these are good looking but if you want a big lip these aren't the ones Jon told me only 2 1/2 on the lip which was kinda odd to me but I think they are concave so maybe that explains it

Agreed. The deep polished wheels with exposed hardware just look 'right' on a c5. I think it's a period correct thing for what was the hottest at the time. They just don't pull off modern wheels as well imo.
When I was 13 years old I had my mom buy a blue chip stock with $2,000, I inherited.
It’s now worth $29,000,000!!!!!!!
I’m like Warren Buffett;
I still look at the price of gas at the pump and if it’s too high I don’t even fill the tank.
