Default Spark plug wire boots

I just got a set of the Katech spark plug wire boots that slide over the wires to protect it from the headers. My question is since the protectors are pretty big they touch the headers. Will this cause a problem, like catch fire or melt, thanks for the help.

These are what I got.

I emailed them earlier today about it with no answer, just figured id get a quicker response here and maybe some here has used them.

Are you even sure you need them? The techs at ARH told me they are not needed and they reused the factory heat shields and new OEM wires.Running a NA motor after 2 years and all is good.If you really like them, i would think touching the header would be ok since that is what they are designed for.Check the package for specs.

Last wires lasted about a year or less till the started to crack and get super hot, figured I'd try these and see how they work.

I have coated lg's (I think you do too) and I had similar heat socks on there for awhile... they did not melt but the areas they were making contact with the headers it turned the socks white and put marks in my header coating... lg's don't have the best wire routing, I ended up making my own wires out of msd bulk wire and ends... as far as I know msd are the only ones that can be bent to allow for clearance

They'll be alright. I had a some touching on my last car and they only had white marks where they contacted.

Yes sir I do. If it leaves marks ill be ok with that. And you aint lying, the LG don't have very good wire routing, they are really close. I got the Taylor wires and they are crazy close. Thanks again for everyone's help.
